URGENT :

Hon’ble Chief Advisor

Professor Dr Muhammed Yunus

Govt of the people’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Dear Professor Dr. Muhammed Yunus,

8 May 2025

We on behalf of the Voice for Global Bangladeshis humbly request you to consider mediating between two neighbouring Nuclear States India and Pakistan,  who are now seriously on war footing with each other as I write this letter .

As we all are aware that this conflict could be seriously devastating if an all-out war starts between this two nuclear powered nations in South Asia .

The consequences will be of untold  sufferings for  the entire subcontinent including our beloved home country Bangladesh, the third largest nation in the region .

We strongly believe that if you take the initiative, some other world leaders might come on board with you to bring both these feuding  countries to the table for a ceasefire through a peaceful diplomatic solution.

We the NRBs believe that you as the Head of Government of Bangladesh and most importantly, as the world’s only Noble Peace Laureate Head can influence the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan, both of whom you have met in recent months .

We know that a

nuclear war will kill millions of innocents amongst us across the borders .

Fact also remains that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are close neighbours and time has come for us to focus on the similarities that bind us together and to which we historically all belong to and, try our best to live in peace, harmony and mutual respect.

VfGB also believes that Banglaldesh must immediately raise its concerns at the UN on  the possibility of an all out war between South Asia’s  two nuclear powers,  India and Pakistan and ask for restraint by both parties to avoid escalation into a full blown war .

As far as we know there are scope to make such statements by our Permanent Rep at the UN at the General Assembly and also at the Security Council in any open debate on the issue.

Yours very sincerely,

Dr. Hasanat Husain MBE,

On behalf of

Voice for Global Bangladeshis VfGB.
